Merrimack Valley Regional Weather Summary

Unfortunately, we’ve jumped right back into the not-so-nice weekend weather pattern, as today was a total washout. This was due to a cold front crossing the region today, and since there was a low pressure system associated with it, that meant that we did not get a nice day at all. And while the rain will be out of the area for tomorrow, the wind will kick up on the backside of this system, with gusts potentially as high as 30-40 mph tomorrow. Highs will also not be that warm either, as they’ll only reach the low to mid 50s. Plus, while it may be partly sunny early on, don’t let that fool you, as a piece of energy will come down from Canada and give us the chance of a couple afternoon showers. Now, the chance of these showers are not all that high, but don’t be surprised if you feel a couple raindrops outside. And what do you know, as we start the week, both the sun and the warmth are back with highs Monday reaching the low 70s under sunny skies and light winds. Tuesday is unseasonably warm due to a southwest wind as highs reach the mid to upper 70s, and maybe a couple spots could hit 80. Tuesday night, a cold front will come through. The cold front will give states to the west of us the chance of severe weather, but since the front will be crossing at night, there will be much less instability for the front to work with, as there won’t be much, if any, daytime heating left. However, the cold front will deliver some cooler air to the region on Wednesday, as highs will be around 70 under mostly sunny skies. Thursday, there will be a few more clouds around, resulting in cooler high temperatures, in the mid 60s, due to a system nearby that could make for yet another unpleasant end to the week and weekend, but there’s plenty of room for that to change.
